Digitized production
Digitized production increases our productivity and improves the functionality of our products. By collecting and analyzing “big data” we are modernizing our global production network and offering our customers new information and services.
For example, in our camshaft and steering system production facilities the physical world of things is merging with data networks to form a cyber-physical system, where the products exchange data with the production systems. Each part carries its own unique data matrix code containing all the relevant data for its production, making it possible to track which production steps it has completed and which are still to come.
Digitized products
Many of our products are closely linked with our customers’ end uses. Our steering systems are a prerequisite for all kinds of driver assist systems. That’s why we are working on new steering solutions such as steer-by-wire and autonomous driving.
For this thyssenkrupp’s steering specialists have already built experimental vehicles and tested them under real conditions on a test track – for our customers and the future of mobility. Our software engineers are addressing the question of how to safely leverage the information supplied by the cameras and radar devices that will assist or even replace drivers.
