thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering is an internationally operating business unit of the Automotive Technology segment of thyssenkrupp AG. The company combines all activities in the field of powertrain and battery assembly with a major focus on the transformation towards electro-mobility. For its customers, the company is a strong and reliable partner that optimizes their value chain and strengthens performance.
Chief Executive Officer
Michael Menneking studied mechanical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Bremen and completed an Executive MBA at the ESMT in Berlin. He joined the former Johann A. Krause Maschinenfabrik GmbH in Bremen in 1999 as a sales and project engineer. In 2006 he was appointed Managing Director of Krause Systemtechnik in Chemnitz and returned to Bremen in 2009 as Head of Transformation Office of thyssenkrupp System Engineering GmbH. From 2011 on he was Vice President Car Body Technology at the Heilbronn site. Between 2014 to 2018 he gained experience abroad as Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Shanghai location before returning to Germany in 2018 as Global Head of Operating Unit Powertrain Solutions.
For Automation Engineering, Michael Menneking assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer.
Chief Financial Officer
Alexander Müller has been employed at thyssenkrupp since 2007. After joining thyssenkrupp Rothe Erde Germany GmbH as Associate/Trainee Controlling & Finance, he was Head of Controlling & Finance at Robrasa Rolamentos Especiais Rothe Erde Ltda in Brazil from 2013. From 2018 to 2021, he headed the CAR division of the Springs & Stabilizers business unit of thyssenkrupp Federn und Stabilisatoren GmbH. He then moved to the position of CFO of the Springs and Stabilizers NAFTA business unit of thyssenkrupp Components Technology de Mexico S.A. de C.V.
At thyssenkrupp Automation Engineering he has been CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of the business unit since March 1, 2024.
